Our Story

Tucked in the heart of Capitol Hill, across from the historic Eastern Market, Lobby Bar captures the spirit of Washington, DC. Designed as a gathering place for all, Lobby Bar offers a refined yet playful take on classic American fare and craft cocktails.

Spanning 2,000 square feet, the space features 18 bar seats, intimate booths, a communal table, and an outdoor patio for dining alfresco. Founded by longtime hospitality professional, Adam Shulman, Lobby Bar pays homage to the hustle and bustle of Capitol Hill and the traditions of the historic Eastern Market neighborhood. Shulman, who brings decades of experience leading restaurants and nightlife venues including time with MGM Resorts International, envisioned a space that feels both elevated and inviting. It’s a place where locals, visitors, and Capitol Hill professionals alike can connect over great food and drinks.

Lobby Bar proudly sources many ingredients from local vendors at Eastern Market, staying true to its roots and celebrating the best of what D.C. has to offer.

The Food

Lobby Bar’s menu, led by DC native Chef Andre Williams, brings high-end flavors to approachable favorites. Guests can begin their meal with starters like the Hamachi Crudo — thinly sliced yellowtail marinated in a bright yuzu ponzu sauce, topped with chilies and crispy shallots — or the housemade Lobby Nuggets, tempura battered chicken served with house-made honey mustard, with an optional caviar upgrade for those looking to indulge.

For main courses, the kitchen offers comfort-driven dishes with refined touches. Signature offerings include the Double Smash Burger with American cheese, shaved red onion, and special sauce served with hand-cut fries; Maryland-Style Crab Cakes featuring fried lump crab meat, lemon, and asparagus; fresh Spicy Rigatoni tossed in a Calabrian-style tomato sauce; and Prime Rib slow-roasted to perfection, served with horseradish cream, natural jus, and creamy spinach.

The Cocktails

Lobby Bar’s beverage program, created in partnership with Tory Pratt of Pratt Standard Cocktail Company, puts a distinctive spin on classic cocktails.Guests can enjoy Lobby Bar’s House Dirty Martini, featuring caper brine for a unique twist, or experience the Specialty Dirty Martini, enhanced with an olive oil wash and oyster brine. Other highlights include the Earl Grey Arnold Palmer, a refreshing blend of Bulleit Bourbon, Pratt Standard’s Earl Grey Vanilla Syrup, and fresh lemon.
